Another PD-1 CRISPR trial with partial information revealed in the same timeframe with no fatalities gets cited – but not the one with fatalities

The clinical trial which has resulted in 20/21 deaths had reported intermediate results with 10/21 deaths in July 2018 – no one cared to cite it in 18 months.

This other clinical trial at Sichuan University which reports in the same journal in the same time frame (ironically) that out of 7 patients – two patients experienced stable disease (SD) with 17.6 and 22.0 weeks, respectively. Other 5 patients had progression disease (PD).

So not a bad result.

Though there is not much information, this was July 2018  – is the the same where WSJ in Dec 2018 says “Wang Yong, who ran it. Many participants died as their cancer grew, Dr. Wang said, without giving a specific number.”

However, other 3 papers promoting this technique has selectively cited this paper – since its result does not show any fatalities. Zero citation for the other one.
